Industry Best Practice

Construction is recognised as one of the most dangerous industries to work in within the UK.

Over the last 5 years there has been an average of 36 fatalities to construction workers, with up to 54,000 non-fatal injuries reported each year. Excavations are perceived as being particularly hazardous within the Construction site.

MGF are committed to improving both excavation and structural safety and creating safe working environments for our customers and in the communities in which we operate. We are fully aware of our obligations under the CDM Regulations:2015 and take a pro-active approach to developing and promoting industry best practice through experience, research, innovation and training.

Safe Systems of Work

Our Safe Systems of Work installation guidance is both award winning and industry leading in terms of providing simple, accessible occupational health and safety guidance to safe shoring. By displaying the use of our products through innovation and embracing new technologies we aim to support our customers to create safe working environments.

In 2014 our Safe Systems of Work Guidance Tools received the competitive Ground Engineering Award for Health and Safety 2014.

Panel judges commented “A well rounded submission that describes a product that focuses on a specific activity, using a new technology to de-risk a common high-risk process”

Our series of 3D animated installation guide videos have been the central innovation in a focused campaign to improve occupational health and safety and were first recognised by the industry for their contribution to improved Health and Safety in the Occupational Health and Safety Awards in 2013 by Welsh Water winning ‘Best Innovative Idea’.

Find our installation guidance animations on our product pages.
