After hearing about Kylan’s struggle with spinal muscular atrophy on the internet, MGF Marketing Executive, Rachel Maloney knew she wanted to help however she could.
On Sunday 20th November, Amy Thomas, Kylan’s mother, organised a fundraising event for her son at Thornhill Social Club in Cumbria where around £1,000 was raised through a raffle to help fund the various physio sessions that aren’t covered by the NHS.

Rachel produces commissioned art for an online customer base and discovered the event when a small business on TikTok, LitandmadebyEmma, reached out, asking for donations for the event. Hearing the call, Rachel provided a handful of vouchers for commissioned artwork as well as more than 20 drawings.
Arriving on the day, Rachel took part in the tombola, raffle and lucky dip. For other attendees, the day also included meeting Santa and visiting small business stalls, all attending to raise as much money as possible for Kylan’s condition.
