The latest addition to the team, Ollie has a strong background in temporary works and plant hire. Covering the East London and Essex areas, his knowledge of the construction industry helps him to provide customers with the best service possible.
Tell us a bit about your role
Based from Dartford depot, my role as a Technical Sales Representative is to provide support to new and existing customers, which involves creating and building strong relationships, whilst liaising with our own in house design team to provide a wide range of shoring and excavation support solutions – covering East London and Essex.
What do you enjoy about it the most?
What I enjoy the most is, purely being of service to my customers and building relationships based on trust. I love that every day can be different, and every day has its different challenges to which I thrive off. I also enjoy meeting new faces and building my professional network. Above all, I enjoy the personal achievement gained from knowing I had a hand in help deliver a project both safely and on time.
Describe your background and how you got into the industry
My background has predominantly been within sales in the construction industry. I started my career working in recruitment selling manpower solutions to the rail and construction industries. I’ve since gained valuable experience in plant hire and temporary works.
I’d always enjoyed challenging my abilities and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, while working with and meeting new people. So working in Technical Sales allows me to both face daily challenges and face new people!
What do you appreciate about having strong working relationships with customers and how that benefits your job?
I appreciate it because, it not only helps build your client network, but it also helps build a strong understanding between myself and the customer. Knowing what their needs might be ultimately benefits my job as it helps me to understand their requirements and service them efficiently.
