Joining our expanding lifting and safety team, Victoria has 13 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically within the lifting and safety sector. We asked Victoria a few questions to see how she is settling in at MGF.

What made you want to work in the construction industry?
I didn’t go out and choose to work in construction, but when I got my first role, I enjoyed that everyday was different, ever evolving and I was always able to keep learning.
What do you enjoy about your role?
I enjoy meeting and supporting our customers by helping them find solutions for their projects. I also enjoy working with different manufacturers and the products, constantly learning about how these products can continue to support our customers.
Describe your background and how you got into the industry
I fell into the construction industry by accident 13 years ago when moving to a new county. Initially working for a distributor, since then I have worked for two safety distributors both connected to supply within construction and most recently back to supply working direct with construction.
What do you find to be the most interesting projects to work on?
Working in Lifting and Safety, we get to work on a variety of projects all of which have different dynamics. I think for me, any project that is related to water whether it be clean or waste as there is so much versatility within the projects themselves. Lifting and safety supports the whole journey of the project from the beginning with engineers and contractors, right the way through to supporting the end user when the contractor has left site.

Why do you think having strong relationships with our customers is so important?
Our customers are key. They trust and rely on us to support and deliver to them a safe solution for their application, in an ever-changing environment. Communication and listening to the customers wants and needs is the most important thing to creating a strong relationship.
