Livingston, an update: Meet the Team who are facing the temporary works challenges in Scotland

After almost a year in action, MGF’s Livingston Depot has been providing excavation safety solutions to those across Scotland.

Ideally located in the central belt, MGF’s depot is able to support the growing needs of the northern UK construction industry by offering national service to Scotland with the support of the other 12 MGF locations.

Cairns Gibson, Regional Manager for Scotland and North East England commented: “It’s great to now have a full sales team in Livingston, supported by our Regional Engineer. We have been servicing the country for 10 months now to great success and we hope that the team continues to do MGF justice in Scotland.”

Craig has worked in the temporary works industry for 26 years following in his father’s footsteps after working with him on Saturday mornings and loving the atmosphere on site. Over the years he began gaining knowledge of all aspects of system and traditional formwork systems, groundworks and deep drainage – working his way up to site manager before making the move to sales.

Since joining MGF in January 2020, Craig says “I enjoy making things happen and providing solutions – I can be onsite or in the office and provide solutions to the site teams”.

With over 15 years’ experience working in the utilities sector, Stephen joined MGF mid-August 2020 and brings 3 and a half years temporary works sales knowledge. He says that construction has always been his passion and the involvement throughout the various project stages brings a great sense of achievement when you see the job near completion.

Stephen adds “Building close relationships with new clients from small construction companies to large tier 1 contractors sets MGF apart – we are not an average hire company but with one with a rich engineering heritage”.

Having amassed 14 years’ experience in the construction industry, Lewis joined MGF at the start of November. Qualifying with a BEng (Hons) from the University of Strathclyde, his initial five years were spent working on site for principal contractors before moving to the design office working with local authorities. For the latter 9 years Lewis’ has specialised in temporary works designs, working both for tier one contractors and in plant supply.

Lewis comments, “I take great satisfaction in developing strong working relationships with customers and one of my immediate priorities will be to raise the profile of MGF in Scotland and starting to engage with customers, both new and existing. It’s important that I offer efficient but also pragmatic designs to give the customer the best fit solution for their project. I look forward to working alongside the sales team to increase the exposure of MGF in Scotland.”
