MGF Drivesafe is an alternative to traditional piling caps that attaches to excavator quick coupler mechanisms and is the latest innovation from the MGF Research and Development Team.
Our approach to product development is based on interpreting our customer’s feedback into practical safety solutions to use around excavations. Our customers told us that traditional methods of installing sheet piling could sometimes prove unsafe, particularly when excavator buckets detach from excavators whilst driving sheet piling in to the ground.
We developed two versions of the Drivesafe unit, 65mm and 80mm, to be compatible with all trench sheets and excavator quick couplers with capacities between 13t and 25t. Drivesafe helps to push the trench sheets into the ground using a slow, steady and safe push method. Using the unit can reduce the need for Operatives to work at height and can reduce damage occurring to the sheets during installation. Installation is made faster by removing the need to install driving caps for each sheet, and can assist in realignment of the sheet.
MGF’s Engineering Director, Steve Hesketh commented “The Drivesafe product has been developed with our customers’ needs in mind. The primary objective behind the product is to reduce the need for operatives to work at height and the requirement for manual handling. The system significantly reduces these risks for operatives when installing trench sheeting when compared to the traditional method of using a driving cap.
