MGF Attend the TRAKO 2015 International Rail Exhibition

MGF have recently returned from the TRAKO 2015 rail trade exhibition in Gdansk, Poland.

TRAKO is the largest scale Rail exhibition in Poland, and the second largest in Europe. The international exhibition was first held in 1996 and has been a bi-annual fixture since then. The 2015 exhibition was attended by nearly 600 exhibitors from 20 countries with the display area totalling 20,000 square metres.

Until 2030 Rail in Poland will be experiencing an unprecedented level of investment due to the Governments plans to align the country with the rest of Europe in terms of an advanced trans-European rail network. Part of the upgrade plans include the recently commissioned Rail Baltica project – the development of a high quality passenger and freight rail transport line between the Baltic States and Poland. The 729 km rail line is the largest infrastructure project in the Baltic States since 1990 and involves up to 5 EU countries. It will increase land transport efficiency when completed with scope to expand the line into Asia further in the future.

MGF were invited to attend TRAKO 2015 by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) due to our Rail sector experience, our well-established reputation within the UK shoring industry and our track-record of innovation. MGF have recently developed and launched GRiPSHORE™, a lightweight shoring range that has been utilised in Rail projects, and the Company was also recently accredited as a member of the Rail Alliance network, which held particular gravitas at TRAKO. The Rail Alliance is one of the rail sectors largest dedicated b2b networking organisations and aims to unite rail customers, suppliers and supply chain opportunities. With an ever expanding membership base that spans all aspects of the railway and supporting industries, the Rail Alliance provides a forum where members can network, collaborate, innovate and thrive.

MGF’s Fleet Director, Ronnie Ranson, commented ‘TRAKO is regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious rail industry meetings in Central and Eastern Europe and MGF were extremely pleased to have been invited and given the opportunity to showcase our GRiPSHORE™ lightweight shoring range. Our innovative products generated significant interest and helped us inform the European rail market about our shoring products for shallow excavations. With MGF’s recent Rail Alliance accreditation, the Rail Baltica project in development plus the continued strength of the Polish economy, this year was an exciting time to be invited to attend TRAKO’.

MGF launched the GRiPSHORE™ lightweight shoring range earlier in 2015 and have already received recognition from the UK Rail sector for its innovative qualities. The range was developed through collaboration with our customers, including Network Rail, and the products provide solutions to challenges currently faced by those in the Rail industry. The GRiPSHORE™ Vertishore system can support the walls of an excavation to protect operatives during the installation of an under-track crossing and as GRiPSHORE™ products are produced from Glass Reinforced Plastic they are electrically non-conductive which means they are safe to be utilised adjacent, or in close proximity, to live rail tracks.
