MGF are delighted to announce that we have been short-listed for a Ground Engineering Award 2016 in the category of Product and Equipment Innovation for our GRiPSHORE® lightweight shoring range.
The Ground Engineering 2016 Awards take place on the 30th June at the London Hilton on Park Lane Hotel, London. The Awards recognise and celebrate engineering, groundworks and geotechnics excellence and the event is attended by over 700 individuals from the engineering and construction industries. With over 40 panel judges and 15 trophies to be won the ceremony is recognised internationally and provides an opportunity for businesses to present their services and products to the industry’s most senior and influential players.
The Awards categories are judged in two stages: a preliminary stage which involves making a submission to the awards panel, and a second stage which includes a face-to-face presentation and questions session with the judging panel. The second stage judging takes place in May prior to the winners being announced at the ceremony at the end June.
Ground Engineering’s editor Claire Smith commented, “The range of projects, initiatives and innovations within this year’s entries clearly demonstrate that the UK geotechnics industry is very active and growing, which is great to see. The volume of entries this year means that making it onto the shortlist for the 2016 event was no mean feat and I think the live judging stage will create some interesting discussions.”
MGF are short-listed for the Product and Equipment Innovation Award and within the category, sponsored by Bam Ritchies, there is competition from 8 other organisations who have all innovated to create or implement new products and equipment to the wider benefit of their sector. MGF developed the GRiPSHORE® lightweight shoring range for shallow excavations in-house and introduced the product range to the market in 2015. The range has already received praised and recognition from within the construction industry and was awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ accolade at the British Construction Industry Awards 2015. This recognition coupled with positive feedback from partners and clients within the sectors in which we operate, has helped to solidify GRiPSHORE’s reputation and furthers the notion that the product range will revolutionise safety in shallow trenches and excavations.
MGF previously won a Ground Engineering Award in 2014 in the Health and Safety category and are hoping to make this our second win at the prestigious awards ceremony.
