Construction work is known for its physical demands and mental challenges, where the dedication of workers often takes precedence over personal health. Recognising the importance of the wellbeing of its employees, MGF is pleased to announce its partnership with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
This collaboration highlights MGF’s commitment to cultivating a workplace environment that prioritises the emotional wellbeing of its employees and their families. By investing in the mental health and overall wellbeing of its employees, MGF aims to establish the foundation for a resilient and thriving workforce.
The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is a beacon of support for construction workers and provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families.
The charity offers a free and confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline, live chat service and text HARDHAT facility which provides a range of information, guidance and support on a huge variety of wellbeing issues. These services are complemented by their free Self Support App which offers another route to support, along with their Lighthouse Beacons who provide a safe space for people to share concerns.
Their Wellbeing Academy offers a variety of free soft skills and leadership training delivered across a variety of platforms to suit every learning style and from self paced e-learning, tutor led online courses and bespoke onsite training.
This collaboration is a testament to MGF’s commitment to its people and the industry, paving the way for a healthier and more resilient future.
“Two construction workers take their own life, every working day and over 60% of workers suffer from a mental health issue during their career. Mental health is a key focus in our Think Safe, Work Safe, Home safe initiative at MGF and we currently provide mental health support through our mental health first aiders, mental health champions and Employee Assistance Programme.
We are proud to partner with the Lighthouse Construction Industry and take a proactive step towards advancing a workplace where our team members feel supported, both personally and professionally.”
Managing Director, MGF, Simon Littlewood.
We are delighted to have MGF on board as Company Supporters. Not only are they supporting us financially, their pro-active stance on promoting a positive mental health culture will ensure that their teams know how to reach out for support if they need it and encourage open conversations where people feel supported.”
Chief Operating Officer, the Lighthouse Club, Sarah Bolton.
