MGF recently attended the North West Employee Engagement Group (NWEEG) 2018 awards evening where Liz and Nick collected their prizes, after an impressive 5 MGF employee nominations.
The application process involved recommendations from management and nominations from the company Directors before NWEEG shortlisted 185 nominations down to a final three in each category. It was an anticipating wait. Successfully, two MGF nominees were shortlisted for the awards and both were announced as winners in their categories. Congratulations to – HR Professional of the Year: Liz Baines and New Recruit of the Year: Nick Barbour.
MGF’s HR Manager, Karen Maxwell said,
“Liz makes a difference to everyone she deals with, she has a sunny disposition and displays great resilience when under pressure whilst acting as a role model to inspire and engage others. Liz goes above and beyond without being asked, she’s a true hidden treasure!”
Marc Lord, MGF’s Operations Manager, commented on why he recommended Nick for a nomination,
“Nick is highly motivated and a committed member of staff who interacts with a range of departments around the business. He’s keen to make a difference and remains highly professional and level headed at all times whilst bringing a positive influence on the people around him. Nick has quickly proved to be a fantastic addition to the team, he is an exceptional new recruit.”
Following a day of talks and seminars, the 2nd annual awards ceremony was kicked off by a welcome from NWEEG founder, Steve Smith. The awards are set out to celebrate the people in the business, the individuals to whom the success is owed, honouring them with 11 categories with the chance to win.
With the aim of making the North West the best place in the world to work, NWEEG gives the opportunity for businesses from different industries to interact with each other: sharing tips and tricks for inspiring employee engagement via various initiatives. The only organisation of its kind in the country, NWEEG started as an idea of small group discussions and has since blossomed to include 9 ambassadors, including MGF’s HR manager, Karen Maxwell; with 670 organisation group members, there is a collective 1 million employees and £23 billion annual turnover.
