At our Engineering Centre, we have a team dedicated to our large scale projects. We sat down with the team to find out more.

What are your key responsibilities?
My day-to-day work consists of managing the workload of the Major Projects team, liaising internally with other departments and externally with our customers. I also design and check designs done by others in the team for advanced below ground schemes.
Describe your background and how you got into the industry?
Before joining MGF, I graduated from the University of Salford with a First Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering. I have a particular interest in historical structures and unusual structural forms. Since joining MGF, I have achieved EngTech level membership and am currently working towards becoming a chartered engineer.
What are your key responsibilities?
I work alongside the engineers in the Major Projects department, to produce working drawings to accompany the designs that are sent to the client. I produce manufacturing drawings for bespoke equipment required on designs, while aiding the design department in the smooth running of Revit and AutoCAD.
What do you enjoy about your role?
I enjoy the drawing of the complex basements and finding a solution to the propping arrangements required. Working on the larger scale projects allows me and the team to think outside of the box when off the shelf designs won’t work. I get to do all this while working in a friendly and supportive office environment where I can learn from those around me.
