New Culvert Puller Rated 10/10

“The set up was quick and simple, a team from MGF came out to site to show us how to use it however the operating instructions and system itself were very straight forward.”

Two new versions of Culvert Pullers have been added to the national fleet and are now available for hire. A Safe System of Work animation has been produced to demonstrate the step-by-step method, available to view on the MGF Youtube channel. The new units are quicker and easier to use than previous versions, with a simple set up procedure promising to reduce downtime and allow a speedier laying process.

Simon Davies, Foreman for ESH Construction, told us about his experience using the new culvert puller at a new housing site in Bedlington:

“I’d rate the culvert puller 10/10. The set up was quick and simple, a team from MGF came out to site to show us how to use it however the operating instructions and system itself were very straightforward. The puller was surprisingly lightweight, which made moving and setting it easy. We installed 49 culverts from Midday, Monday to 2pm Thursday afternoon which was a lot quicker than expected, the culverts absolutely flew in.”

One type is powered by 12V battery which is convenient to customers without generator availability and restricted site access. A version powered by a 32A / 6kVA electrical generator is also available.

The pullers have adjustable feet that are hydraulically operated and allow them to be used with precast concrete pipes and culverts with internal heights of between 1.22m and 3.0m. They clamp to the ceiling of the culvert as opposed to the joint making them much more versatile. They can be used in conjunction with either the corded or wireless remote which allow the culverts to be pulled without having any operatives within the culvert.
