Commercial Manager, Peter Dunnion began his career at MGF in June 2011 as Regional Manager responsible for both our Midlands and East Anglia regions. During this time Peter has been a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and more recently achieved Fellow status.
This is a testament to all the hard work and dedication Peter has given throughout his career and more recently in this role at MGF over the last 10 years. Starting young and working in a family-owned contracting business, he developed a natural interest in construction. After gaining a better understanding of the broader opportunities that a career in civil engineering had to offer, Peter continued to develop his interest in the profession and studied Civil Engineering at university.

Throughout his career Peter has embraced every opportunity to develop both his personal and professional traits, having gained several years’ experience on projects across the UK, Peter then worked overseas in Malaysia for many years as a Section Manager on a major rail project. This was an exciting period and provided Peter with the environment to experience new cultures and a first-hand challenge of managing people from diverse back grounds. It was also an ideal opportunity to work towards full chartered membership status with the ICE, which he achieved in 1998; These early opportunities in his career under pinned what Peter has achieved in his career to date, as well as creating a fundamental belief that it is important to continually develop and adopt new skills to deliver strong teamwork, by creating and maintaining an inclusive and open culture of engagement.
Having recently become a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers which is the highest grade of membership and recognises the significant contributions you have made to society and the field of engineering, Peter now encourages others to take the same route he said:
“The ICE makes it possible to always have a new level you can strive towards in engineering and provides a creditable way of benchmarking your personal and professional development”
