Our Rail Division See Another Year of Success in 2023!

During 2023, our Rail division has continued to grow and deliver many successful projects for our customers across the UK.

Our dedicated Rail team offers specialist support in the rail sector, providing equipment ideal for use on rail sites as well as onsite technical expertise and engineering support.

Due to the continued success of our Rail Division, this year we embarked on a recruitment drive and we are pleased to have welcomed our HS2 Project Manager, Tom Hughes, Rail Sales Specialists, Dan Pampu and Craig Woolmer to the team managed by our Rail Sector and HS2 Manager Mark Norton, assisted in Sales Support by Amelia Ketchell.

With the continuation of major works on HS2, this year we have recruited a HS2 Project Manager, Tom Hughes, to manage the works we are delivering. HS2 works in the Midlands and South East have increased in volume and Tom’s joining us has given our customers a senior local point of contact, allowing our Rail Team to continue their work with our customers up and down the country in parallel to HS2.

We have been working on HS2 projects in the South East, Home Counties, Old Oak Common and Midlands. On Rail sector works around the country Northern TruAlliance between Manchester and Leeds and electrification, signalling and drainage projects are amongst the highlights.

As the Network Rail Control Period 6 (CP6) draws to a close, we are looking forward to CP7 which is due to commence April 2024. Our Rail Team continue to grow with the increased volume of works on UTXs, drainage, structures, culverts etc as well as seasonal shut down works in the interim period.

This year, we have seen an increase in projects that have utilised a cross divisional approach from MGF, as major Rail projects around the country have not only hired our Shoring but also utilised our Structural Support, Lifting and Safety capabilities as well. Our National Accounts team are providing leads from the Tier 1 contractors and Regional Engineering working closely with engineering contacts on Rail and HS2 projects.

Our Rail Team have also been working closely ongoing with our Engineering Centre on provision of Form C’s and CRE (D) with designs. The MGF territory sales team were briefed on MGF Rail Procedures early 2023, aware of the additional requirements when dealing with Network Rail, and are generating additional opportunities throughout the country. The depots are delivering an excellent level of service and support, and we will commence additional recruitment early 2024 as we further grow the team again, this time in the North of the country ready for CP7 and other major schemes planned for 2024 and beyond.
