With the end of 2022 rapidly approaching, we are looking back at some of our achievements and milestones from the last 12 months.
From roadshows and long service celebrations to awards of Outstanding Organisation for the Year at the North West Construction Safety Group awards, 2022 has held a lot for MGF. Here are just some of the achievements from the last 12 months.

Our Roadshows
In early 2022, we hosted a series of roadshow events featuring equipment from our Lifting and Safety division, Pilling range and Research & Development department. We invited a variety of our suppliers for Lifting and Safety to join us and help educate the MGF team.
Beginning at Head Office in Wigan, the roadshow travelled to Astley then Castleford, took a trip to Rugeley in the Midlands and then down to Dartford, Tring and Bristol before finishing up in Durham and Livingston.
The Roadshow was designed as a way to bring employees up to speed with MGF’s new and developing technologies and to display the type of products they might only have seen in pictures and animations up-close and personal.
RoSPA Award Winners
2022 saw our win of the 9th consecutive RoSPA Gold award. We were thrilled to win the award once more after demonstrating well developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.
Our SHEQ team works closely with our growing number of depots across the country to make sure these conditions are set company wide. The team also works with members of staff from other departments to improve operational safety and onsite practices.
At MGF we understand that it is vital our safety practices are reviewed and improved consistently, as construction is one of the most dangerous industries to work in within the UK.

Longest Serving Employee
September 2022 saw MGF bid farewell to our longest serving employee, Ann Clarke, as she started a new chapter in life, retirement.
Starting work on April 12th, 1985, Ann worked for MGF for over 37 years, dealing with the administration side of the business, earning her the title as longest serving MGF employee.
Ann’s first task was to help purchase the company’s first computer.
MGF are grateful for all Ann’s hard work and commitment to the company. Many of her friends and colleagues gathered at the Astley depot to bid her farewell.
Since her retirement, Ann has been missed by all at MGF, but we wish her the best of luck for retirement.
Award Winning Health and Safety
On Friday the 7th October MGF received the award for Outstanding Organisation for the Year at the North West Construction Safety Group awards.
To win the Outstanding Organisation of the Year award for our improvement towards health and safety is testament to all of our workforce, some of whom are exposed to hazards daily, who constantly strive to improve standards and work in collaboration with our Think Safe, Work Safe, Home Safe philosophy. ”
Eddie Prendergast, MGF SHEQ Manager
MGF are extremely proud to receive this award and gain the recognition for improving health and safety standards.

Thank you to everyone at MGF and all our customers for helping to achieve the above and supporting us throughout the year. Here’s to an exciting 2023!
