Free Video Webinar – BIM for Infrastructure, Tuesday 1st July 2014, 11am
The NCE hosted webinar was streamed live on Tuesday 1st July 2014 at 11am to 12noon focusing on how BIM for infrastructure differs from BIM for buildings with case studies.
The free webinar took place on Tuesday 1 July and is now available to watch on demand. Sponsored by Autodesk, Autodesk experts were on hand to guide and advise.
The webinar was timely with the 2016 deadline by which time the UK government has mandated that Level 2 BIM must be used on all its projects fast approaching.
By that time client, contractor and designers must be working from data-rich models where the data can be easily exchanged and shared.
But how ready is the industry? Last November three quarters of respondents to an NCE poll admitted that they were not yet operating at Level 2, with over a quarter revealing that they had not even evolved to using 3D models.
Six months on how much has the picture changed?
Editor Mark Hansford put the question to the expert panel. Anne Kemp and Steve Hesketh are both advocates and early adopters of BIM. They summarised the industry’s readiness for BIM and used real-life project examples to show what progress has been made.
