Large excavation in an urban area

IOSH Construction Day

The IOSH Construction Day was hosted at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland earlier this month. The MGF team attended to provide a voice for the shoring industry within UK construction.

Over 100 construction professionals from around the North East attended the event to keep up to date with the latest health and safety legislation, guidance, safety innovations, equipment and hazard prevention techniques from leaders in occupational safety and health, IOSH.

The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, IOSH, are the biggest health and safety membership organisation in the world, and the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals. MGF were delighted to be invited to present the first session in an engaging programme for IOSH members, focusing on the hazards that are associated with temporary works in excavations.

Our Engineering Director, Steve Hesketh, joined speakers from the HSE and other leading industry safety professionals, and highlighted MGF contribution to occupational health and safety awareness.

Our Safe Systems of Work Guidance is a comprehensive set of installation and extraction step by step animated guides, and instructional materials that have been making risk management around excavations accessible and simple to interpret.

The Construction Day for IOSH is one of many safety focused events that MGF have been a part of throughout the UK. For more information about MGF’s approach to occupational health and safety expertise browse our website or contact head office on 01942 402 700.
