MGF, a trusted provider of construction safety solutions, has launched the revolutionary Pitch & Pull System, an innovative product developed in collaboration with leading infrastructure and engineering company, Murphy. Designed to enhance safety and efficiency when pitching or extracting trench sheets, the Pitch & Pull has already received awards for its innovative design and practical benefits.
Combining two essential components – an advanced Quick Release Shackle (QRS) and a purpose-built Extractor – Pitch & Pull integrates MGF’s innovative Lift Lock mechanism. This mechanism ensures the system remains securely connected to the trench sheet, even when under tension, significantly reducing the risk of accidental releases.
The idea originated from Murphy’s commitment to eliminating unsafe practices. Murphy’s restricted items list, published in late 2023, highlighted the need for safer trench sheet handling methods. In response, MGF partnered with Murphy to co-develop this groundbreaking solution, leveraging their collective expertise.

Throughout the design process, both companies engaged in collaborative workshops, with MGF creating and refining prototypes based on real-world feedback from Murphy site trials. This iterative process ensured the final product was user-friendly, safe, and efficient.

The Pitch & Pull system is approximately 40% lighter than comparable products, reducing strain and enhancing usability.
Enhanced Compatibility:
Works with a range of trench sheet profiles, including KKD 600/6, ER 750/8, and FLP 600/6.
Innovative Lift Lock Mechanism:
Prevents accidental releases, even under tension, for safer operations.
The system’s capabilities were showcased during hands-on demonstrations hosted by MGF at Burnley and Oswestry, earning praise from operational teams and clients alike.
