18t HYBRID CULVERT PULLER
MGF’s 18t Hybrid Culvert Puller is a mechanical device; designed to improve the installation of precast concrete box culverts and pipes. The unit can be powered by either a rechargeable battery or by connection to an MGF hydraulic pump and uses hydraulic power to produce 18 tonnes of horizontal force to pull culverts and pipes together, in conjunction with heavy duty pulling chains and pulling beams.
The Culvert Puller is delivered on a self-contained carry frame which includes the required accessories to setup the puller in different configurations, such as strut extensions and front mount tube, along with a spare battery and battery charger.
FEATURES
- Culvert Puller is suitable for PCC box culverts and pipe with internal heights from 1.2m up to 3.6m
- Installs culverts and pipes using a horizontally mounted 18t hydraulic cylinder – MGF’s strongest Culvert Puller
- Culvert Puller works in conjunction with heavy duty pulling chains and pulling beams
- Powered by either rechargeable battery or an MGF hydraulic pump – battery can pull up to 40 units from a single charge
- LED power display showing remaining battery power
- Secured within culverts and pipes with a self-releasing, hydraulically operated vertical strut – built to the required height using bolted strut extensions
- Operated from outside the culvert or pipe using a wired remote control
- Culvert Puller is supplied in a dedicated carry frame complete with strut extensions, front mount tube, spare battery, battery charger and additional accessories for the safe and fast setup
- For internal heights of 1.2m and below the Culvert Puller is mounted outside of the culvert or pipe using the front mount tube
- Vertical arm features an inclinometer to confirm correct installation angle
- Manual override is included which can release the puller should the vertical arm become jammed.
CULVERT PULLER ANCHOR
The Culvert Puller Anchor is a device that is used to install culverts with internal heights from 0.6m – 1.2m. It works in conjunction with either MGF’s 14t or 18t Culvert Puller, which requires mounting outside of the culvert using the Front Mount Tube. The Culvert Puller Anchor is setup within the culvert and acts as a pulling post. This new product gets around the issue of having to deal with very long & heavy chains, and restrictions on the lengths of low height culvert runs.
The Culvert Puller Anchor is delivered on a self-contained carry frame which includes strut extensions and ancillaries. The Anchor installs within the culverts using an integrated hydraulic system, no external power or pump is required.
FEATURES
- Anchor is suitable for PCC box culverts with internal heights from 0.6m – 1.2m
- Is compatible with MGF’s 14t & 18t Culvert Puller systems
- Secured within culverts and pipes with a self-releasing, hydraulically operated vertical strut – built to the required height using bolted strut extensions
- Connects to a Culvert Puller pulling cylinder via chains to install culverts
- Can be used on culvert runs of any length
- No external power source or hydraulic pump is required; Anchor is installed/removed using integrated handle
- Anchor is supplied in a dedicated carry frame complete with strut extensions and additional accessories for the safe and fast setup
STANDARD CULVERT PULLING SETUP
For standard PCC box culverts (with internal heights between 1.2m & 3.6m), the 18t Hybrid Culvert Puller will be mounted within the culvert and connected to an adjustable pulling beam via heavy duty pulling chains. The Culvert Puller ram is activated to install the next culvert with the required force to produce a satisfactory seal. MGF recommend that every 3rd culvert pull the Culvert Puller is repositioned into the most recently installed culvert.
CULVERT PULLER & ANCHOR SETUP
For low height PCC box culverts (within internal heights between 0.6m & 1.2m), the Culvert Puller cannot be installed within the culvert and must be mounted externally, using the front mount tube. To pull the culverts together the Anchor is installed in the next culvert and connected to the pulling cylinder using heavy duty pulling chains. MGF recommend that every 3rd culvert pull the Anchor is repositioned into the 2nd most recently installed culvert.
DOUBLE CULVERT PULLER SETUP
When the culverts are too large/heavy to be installed by a single Culvert Puller, 2 pullers can be used in tandem. Each of the adjustable pulling beams is capable of being used with double pulls, with each puller unit connecting to the pulling eyes on the pulling beam using a single leg chain.
