WORKING WITH AARSLEFF GROUND ENGINEERING
In October 2023, MGF supported Aarsleff Ground Engineering on a project in Forest Town, Mansfield. The project was to upgrade the wastewater facilities in the village and Aarsleff Ground Engineering’s role was to install a temporary sheet piled cofferdam to allow excavations to take place.
The collaboration between MGF and Aarsleff has been ongoing for many years. The combination of MGF’s innovative product design and Aarsleff’s operational expertise means that value-added solutions can be offered to help save on time, cost, and associated emissions.

KEY BENEFIT
Utilising MGF’s modular system, provided a quicker installation time and sustainability advantages, when compared to if a welded frame solution had been used.
THE SOLUTION
In total, MGF provided 246 sheet piles over a total programme of two weeks. and 5 200 series cross struts to support installation of a full 254UC tank brace system. Due to tough ground conditions, Aarsleff quickly addressed the issue by pre-auguring to loosen the material to minimise delays. The solution installed was a cofferdam.
This excavation creates a dry working environment for the major work to proceed. At Mansfield, this will be the installation of attenuation tanks.
MGF also supplied 5 200 series cross struts to support installation of a full 254UC tank brace system. Temporary hydraulic frames and struts are seen as being a viable reusable alternative.
THE VERDICT
As the MGF system is a reusable fleet hire option, the system provided sustainability advantages to Aarsleff’s client when compared with traditional welded waler systems.
The fully modular system also resulted in a speedier installation compared to if a welded frame solution had been used. MGF were proud to support another successful project and look forward to the continued relationship with Aarsleff.
